    At Murton Farm, you will be able to meet a very friendly collection of animals and birds, including the adorable Kune pigs, donkeys, goats, owls, guineapigs and these “cheeky chappies” pictured, Ferrets! It’s a great place to take the kids with an outdoor play area with a teepee and tea room that serves light lunches and snacks.

  • Balgavies Loch

    Balgavies Loch is an important site for wildlife. Reedbeds fringe the loch and to the west, there is extensive fen. These habitats support a diverse range of wildlife including large numbers of wintering geese, wildfowl and in the Summer months, even Ospreys! It takes less than an hour to walk right round. You can’t get closer than this.

    The UK’s biggest horse sanctuary is set in 220 acres of beautiful paddocks and woodland centre provides a place of sanctuary to 90 horses, ponies and donkeys, as well as bountiful wildlife including red squirrels and mountain birds. A must for all equine fans, the visitor centre has now reopened but on a limited basis.
